Having several terabytes of data storage on hard disks, being able to get half a terabyte on a USB drive (want!), the subject of “Remember when …” 10Meg was a lot of space? When 1Gig was thought to be more room than anybody could need for most purposes? When a terabyte was thought to be an outrageous amount of space?
Which then prompted, what’s next? What’s the next prefix?
The 19th General Conference on Weights and Measures in 1991 extended the list of metric prefixes. The list can be found here.

I’d heard about the fabulous fall colors in the Northeast. I moved here in September 2011, just as the leaves were starting to turn. I realized rather quickly that, not only were the colors fabulous, watching the slow transition, never knowing from one day to the next what new and wondrous colors would appear, was just as fabulous. These images are from my first fall into winter into spring.
